Earlier this year, Google introduced artificial intelligence to its online shopping tool, enabling users to visualize how clothing from specific retailers would fit various body types. This innovative feature has now expanded to include men’s tops, marking another step in Google’s commitment to integrating generative AI — AI capable of creating content based on training data — across its diverse range of products and online services.

Launched in June with brands such as Anthropologie, Everlane, H&M, and Loft, Google’s shopping feature employs AI to generate lifelike images of clothing items on real models. The primary aim is to showcase how different sizes appear on actual individuals, contributing to the ongoing efforts of major internet companies and retailers, including Amazon and Walmart, to enhance the virtual try-on and home shopping experience.

These AI-enhanced shopping capabilities are part of the Search Generative Experience, an experimental version of Google Search that requires user sign-up.
